Student Leadership Camp
haha its been a long time since i blogged. so here goes.
SLC first.. the camp was on the 7-9 april, so we had a half day off on fri to go to the camp site which is called CAMP KARIMUN, which is country club as well. but.. the toilets there STINKS!!! haha can puke. on the first day we pitched up our tents, which were kinda boring.. the gals got the BRAND NEW tents while the guys got the OLD and LEAKY tents!! talk about equality among the sexes. haha. after that we played wet games. for me the first game was to climb up a steep grass slope covered with a huge piece of canvas.. but... there was soap and water on the canvas, and the dumb instructors kept spraying jets of water as we went up.. haha.. so in the end, it was a mixture of water, soap and mud. second game was to design a raft to transport ppl across the deep pool. my team's design looked kinda pathetic, with just 3 rubber tyres and tonnes of raffia string, which struck me to call our raft the String Ensemble. haha.. the other groups' rafts were all huge and bulky. HOWEVER, there were ppl swimming in the deep pool, so all we were left was the.. baby pool! lol! one group's raft was so big that it took up the entire breadth of the pool! haha it was very fun. ^^ at night we watched the movie "remember the titans" it was a very touching movie, so please i urge everyone to try to get hold of it and watch it. there's a guy called sunshine who's gay. haha.
2nd day was a bazzar.. we had to plan buy and sell things in one hour plus. the instructors were the "govt" and they sold stuff at outrageous prices.. for a packet of flour u cld buy outside for 90cents, they sold at $15. hahaha. madness. it was kinda fun, with all the different games and food and products, we enjoyed ourselves.. haha.. bla bla bla after lunch was a whole stretch of theoretical activites. aka talks. next up we had some time to come up with a group performance for gala nite, the last nite of the camp. so our group's one was about journey to tj. i was the sun wu kong. haha. the whole plot was very lame. we setted off from a place called laksasun, opposite of "currymoon" .. haha.. then we encountered Guan Yin Ma, who came out with a bright light, and so i put on sun glasses. haha. bla bla bla. after walking a fair bit the monsters appeared. so we fight in like pokemon style, get the picture? kinda lame. when zhu ba jie died, i was like poking him with my rod asking him not to slp already. when it was my turn, the monk recited those sutras to make me headache cos i was playing a fool, but all i said was" dun worry, morning ate panadol already." tongs lame. haha then when i wanted to summon out my grandsons from my hair, i "realised" i only had one strand left, cos balding already after walking like 500 years. bla bla.. so left 2 monsters to the monk alone, so while fighting, the monk had leg cramps and he almost died, and guan yin ma appeared again to revive his disciples, then we gt into formation to shoot out the "ULTIMATE SUNSHINE!" haha sunshine's guy in the movie rmb? the end. after the skits were the cross dressing part. it was very fun not only it was kinda outrageous but cross dressing is strictly banned in tj. =P rounds of cheers and screams went out through out the night.
When i woke up in the morning, my left side was totally drenched, and my right side was totally dry. turned out it had rained since 4am. well i told u guys had leaky tents, so while the girls enjoyed their beauty slp, the guys were busy rescuing themselves. haha. then, we had a sembawang trail. like a mini amazing race with just 4 stations. the instructors expect us to be back in 3 hours, but all of us ran, so our dear instructors ran with us too. haha.
it was a truly enriching experience, and i really felt that i benefited. thank you T.K.
