ok. finally this weekend was interesting.

i didnt play bball on sat. actually i didnt exercise at all on sat.

and i played bball on sun morning, and surprisingly the soccer ppl came and didnt play. phew. tink they didnt had enuf ppl to chase us away tat day. actually come to think of it, its just yesterday.

after bball, where ken got injured by nick(nothing new), i went to teach tuition. and it was a blood voimitting session. -.-

and luckily there was some chill time at dt's house later. ken went hospital to see his foot i tink. then nick left after i came. and jud came after i came. hahaha then we watched wall-E and Iron Man.

it was quite coincidental both movies were about technology.

wall-E

i thought wall-E was really making a loud statement though it was a movie without much dialogue. firstly it really showed how dependent humans are on technology, to the extent that they have not walked for more than 700 years. its amusing how they finally learn how to walk again near the end of the movie, cos its like a returning to the beginning.

secondly, it foretells the impending doom of earth's future. our irresponsibility in exploiting and our irresponsibility in not doing anything much to save it and our irresponsibility in abandoning it at the end.

thirdly, in relation to my first point, our dependence on technology to the extent that we live in delusion in the sense that we still think that technology has done more good than bad in our lives. similarly, the human touch and love for each other that has been replaced by communication over wireless(and emotionless) contact. so much so that it has become virtual.

lastly, as it comes so strongly at the end of the movie, whether this earth can be saved is strongly dependent(i suddenly had an urge to type positively correlated i aso dunno why =p) on our urge and will to do so.

so the question is, should we look into the race's viability in outerspace, or should we devote more attention and resources towards saving this earth of ours.

afterall, this is the only earth we've got.

iron man

its obviously an action pack movie. and the effects and technology used was good too. quite funny to think of it actually, using technology to make a sci-fi technology movie like iron man.

using weapons to destroy weapons, using violence to stop violence, using power to overwhelm power. is this just like the chinese saying 以毒攻毒?using poison to counter poison. or is it all about a balance of power?

oh well.
